Gallery: Multicultural Assembly
Beaverton High School had its annual Multicultural Assembly in the main gym on Friday, April 28. In the beginning, there were two girls dressed up and dancing to “Real in Rio.” While the song was playing, students carried the flags of the nations where they were born. Then, there was a teen playing his guitar and singing a country song.
Next, there was a display of traditional Mexican and Guatemalan dresses and outfits by MEChA. There was also guitar music playing as they showed off their clothes. Then, there was a student singing in Spanish along with guitars and music.
A dance was next from Josh Bybee to “Hand-Clap” by Fitz and the Tantrums. Cherokee Evans followed with a solo, singing “Opportunity” by Sia. Then, the Japanese Club talked about their meeting schedule and showed off cultural items. There was another singing performance, followed by the Beaverton High School choir. Dancing was next, by two students with South American flags around their waists.
A Fencing Club demonstration was next, and then the assembly finished with Ballet Folklorico. Students then headed back to class.
