Every year, Pride Northwest comes to Portland in celebration of the community’s LGBTQ+, with thousands joining in. Featuring booths and vendors from 150 various organizations and business filling up Tom McCall Waterfront Park, the city became a rainbow for the weekend.

On March 8, women around the world celebrate themselves, their bodies, their power, their courage and to stand united with one another. Around the world, women get recognized for their accomplishments. It’s no secret that women have faced social, economic and political disadvantages just for being a women, and this day was meant to challenge that.

Trump bans overseas abortion funding

President Trump recently signed an executive order which reinstates the where non-governmental organizations that offer abortion services in foreign countries will no longer receive U.S. funding to perform abortions. In places where abortion is illegal, there’s a higher death rate of women due to the higher number of women getting illegal, unsafe abortions. However, in places where it’s legal and accessible, the mortality rate of women is much lower.

Obamacare’s days are numbered. President Donald Trump has already passed a bill that has begun the process to start rolling back Obamacare and its benefits. Expressing his extreme discontent with the law since joining in on the 2016 Presidential race, repealing Obamacare was one of Trump’s highest priorities.
